Congratulations. Those last two statements truly demonstrate what a tone deaf and tin ear critic you are. You are as much as a snob as so many others. Hollywood is a business. I know you critics seem to believe that films are created solely for your appreciation (or far more often, loathing) alone BUT AS WE SPEAK WRITERS AND ACTORS ARE ON STRIKE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GETTING THEIR FAIR SHARE FROM THE STUDIOS FOR FILMS LIKE THIS THAT SO CASUALLY DISCARD. Your statement that the goal of cinema is not related to commerce is so utterly tone-deaf it could only come from a critic. And as a critic who has spent so much of my life infurtiated at the elitism that you express in comments like this truly goes to prove you're at your core, as much of a snob as all the rest. I might be willing to meet you halfway when it comes to Barbie. Your individual review has merits. But in your comments you clearly demonstrate that you are in the same elitist bubble that I find in those of the New Yorker and the Times; those who blatantly dismiss any film as a box office success as having no artistic merit or value. Congratulations. In that sense you have acheieved equality. Female critics CAN be just as pretentious and snobbish as the male ones. Bravo
