DeVito does get to deliver a great line one of Roger Ebert's favorites: "Everybody loves money! That's why they call it money!"

mAMET has over time become judged for being a toxic personality, not just in terms of the conservative sexist type but also being famously opposed to working in Hollywood. (tHAT's one reason why criitcs love him more than some other writers: they have a kinship with people in the industry who think they are part of a sacred calling and that commerce has nothing to do with it.) He is a brilliant writer and it also looks like he's avery conservative one. Hence the reason he was so drawn to a heist film - it was something he loved growing up so naturally he thought everyone else should see it too.

Mamet seems to prefer toxic males in his films and the only women who show up in his work are his current wives and when he divorces them new wives. (LindsaY Crouse and Rebecca Pidgeon are among the only women who appear in multiple mAMET films. Both were married to him.) He's a great writer and I don't deny the power of his dialogue and his work. I will love his films. And I suspect I'll enjoy them more when he's dead.

After years of laboring for love in my blog on TV, I have decided to expand my horizons by blogging about my great love to a new and hopefully wider field.
