Does that mean you will instant give up this column? I'm pretty sure all the social media you and you and followers use on a daily basis use up a lot of energy. Put your money where your mouth is.

Let's not kid ourselves. The real reason you and your colleagues are pissed about the upcoming energy crisis has nothing to do with the end of the world. You're just upset that your generation will be the one left holding the bag. If there was a way for you to kick it down the road to the next generation, you and all of you good people here would do it in a heartbeat.

Hell, I'll put in a genuine reality. Let's say we could reduce the carbon footprint of our planet by twenty percent, but every American would have to give up their Iphones, smart devices, and social media accounts. This wouldn't be a sacrifice for me: I'm writing this from a computer and I only switched to an iphone recently, and I never use social media. How many of you would be willing to make a similar sacrifice? And before you answer that question, tell me what device your reading this on right now? How many of you would willingly put inconvenience now in favor of saving the future later? I want you to answer this question. Then get back to me about using less energy and liking it.
