Field of Dreams is one of my personal favorites. And in recent years he's also had some wonderful moments in smaller roles. Molly's game is one of my favorite movies of the last few years. Kevin Costner's role as Jessica Chastain's father is small but one of the most incredible scenes comes near the end where he talks with the daughter who he's had a horrible relationship with his entire life and basically tells, simply and truthfully, why she did what she did and she was wrong about so many things. It's one of the most brilliant things Aaron Sorkin's ever written and Costner's delivery is perfect. In an interview he said he was terrrifying reading the script and messing it up. He didn't.
