First I would like to extend my gratitude. I have commented on the flaws of so many of these columns over the years, using empathy, reasoning and eventually spewing to receive indifference from both the writers of these columns and the masses of your followers. I appreciate when a person actually bothers to engage. Visceral contempt is actually preferable to indifference, even though the response is just as foolish as your original column.

To be clear I have read much of your work as well as the writings of otthers not only at your message board but throughout medium. And I will give you credit. Unlike the majority of those who traffic in doomporn with nothing to offer but sackcloth and ashes, you at least have a theory. It is, of course, completely academic and could never exist in any form of practical universe, but at least it's something resembling a plan for the mythological utopia you hope to design and blame the human race for being too blind not to complete.

I've made arguments like this before in countless futile attempts, so I'll try to use a personal example.

During the era of Trump, I read many columns of you and your fellow leftists and I was fundamentally in agreement not only with your rhetoric and principles. That's not difficult, your ideals are sound and reasnable and they are things we should all strive for. I will acknowledge that, like so many of us, I was in a dark place and I needed something to hang my hat on.

Then in the opening years of the Biden administration, I notice that there was no change in the rhetoric of you and your fellow leftists. Indeed, as America had a sane person as head of state and a Democatic majority, however thin, in both houses of Congress, you actually became more contemptible towards not merely Republicans but all elected officials. I'm beginning to wonder, the more I read of you and your ilk's work, if you were actually disappointed Trump neither won reelection nor succeeded on January 6th. Yes, it's very clear you hate everything he and his ilk stand for, but it's become clear you have little use for anything the Democrats represent. This is clear in every article I've read at this site, including this one. Your resentment of 'the Other' which I see all too often in the leftist articles and which you are very clear to define her, is all too obvious.

At the end of the day, you and your ilke do not want America to be great but to be Perfect. The ideological utopia which you have no idea how to create nor does not exist in any country on Esrth but you are certain would work if people just listened to you and you could ignore all the people who disagreed with you.

I agree with your agenda and your principles but unlike you I'm not just a pragamtist but a realist. I have been called bigoted names because I believe in such trivialities as equal suffrage, free speech, democracy and basic humanity - for everybody, not just the people I like but the people I despise. I don't want to live in the world the MAGAs want to create. But I don't want to live in your world either because it is just as restrictive of the Other as theirs is. I realize that in polarized world moderation and centrism are ideals that both sides find utterly unacceptable. That this is the only way a functioning society can exist does not enter the minds of the extremists on either side - which make no mistake, you and so many of your followers are.

I don't know what your response will be to this. My guess is, there will be either none at all, as is the case when ever someone in their bubble refuses to acknowledge a differing viewpoint, or to just deliver more insults and name-calling, in which you would call be a strawman or a useful idiot for whichever group you think I am a part of. For the record, I have voted for Democratic, Republican and independent candidates in Presidential, state and local elections every year since I have turned eighteen. I'd ask when the last time you voted was, but every time I asked the question in this space on has ignored it and I expect the same here. i hope to be proven wrong, but I know better by now and I imagine one or both of us will unfollow the other. That's how this always work when I write these response. I expect no difference here.
