Galactica in name Only. And it was an extraordinary show. They had problems with the final episode, to be sure, but that's not a problem unique to Sci-fi TV in this era (Mad Men anyone?)

I don't have a problem with Marvel movies or even comic book movies in general. Nor do I even object that many of the films and TV can not even represent great art. Joker and Black Panther deserved Best Picture nods, so did The Dark Knight and if I'm being honest, an argument could be made for Civil War. And I have mixed feelings about pop culture being part of the conversation when it comes to the Emmys. I have been unable to find anything of value in The Mandalorian (though I gave up on halfway through Season 1) but I thought Wandavision was one of the Best Shows of 2021 and that HBO's adaption of Watchmen deserved all the Emmys it got.

Everything has to be considered on a case by case basis. The problem is right now the entertainment world is dominated by professional critics who seem to think that anything involving that might have mass appeal has any value (New York Critics only seem to give positive reviews to movies that you can not find in movie theaters) and the internet trolls who are just as convinced that not only is that the only thing worth seeing, but that if it has something that might interest people who aren't them (white, cis males) it's pandering. There needs to be a middle ground, and I've tried to walk it in my reviews and I've read a lot of your reviews. You tend to do the same, and do it well. The problem is, we're in the minority. All we can do is keep plugging away.

After years of laboring for love in my blog on TV, I have decided to expand my horizons by blogging about my great love to a new and hopefully wider field.
