I wrote this article last week in reaction to an op-ed in the Times. I am in agreement horror deserves more representation by the Oscars and there are more films that should have one. This particular writer, well, let's just say he makes what people like you and I are trying to do all the harder and in the process are starting to make nitpicking the Oscar nominations more of a battles of grievances and less fun.
