I actually wrote a piece similar to this when Willis was first diagnoses, paying tribute to his career in TV as well as film. He also gave two undervalued roles as dramatic in oscar nominated films in 1994 Pulp Fiction (somehow his work is lost under all the brilliant perfromances) and Nobody's Fool, in which he played Paul Newman's friendly nemesis in a brilliant comedy. He also was capable of some intriguing work in other comedies, among them DeatH Becomes Her and Bandits.

I honestly gave credit to Hudson Hawk for having imaginiation and creativity. Had it been a success he could have had a different kind of career. It was Willis's misfortune that so many of his most ambitious films were disastsers - Hawk, Bonfire of The Vanities - and others were badly received but turned out to be cult hits later - DeatH Becomes Her, Fifth Element. We took Willis for granted and eventually his work, like so many other actors, began to suffer due to factors beyond his control. He was a great talent and I WILL miss him

After years of laboring for love in my blog on TV, I have decided to expand my horizons by blogging about my great love to a new and hopefully wider field.
