I actually wrote a similar rave about this show on my column. As someone who has loved Tom Fontana's work since Homicide, I am complete awe of both the show and Owen. Owen doesn't try to be Bogart, but watching him I couldn't imagine anyone else being Sam Spade. The dialogue sounds right out of the best film noirs and every single line has both cynicism and the kind of dialogue that you could see Dash Hammett or John Huston writing. As I said this limited series is the stuff that dreams are made of.
