I agree with everything you say. And much of it does keep up at night. The problem is, no one seems willing to come with an alternative that works within the laws of our country.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard over the last two years the equivalent of so many people saying that Donald Trump should have been thrown in jail the day that he left office and sentenced without trial. That's not how the justice system works. All of the arguements that have been made since Donald Trump started running for President, including all of the various motions that have been made the challenges to keep Trump off the primary ballots over the last two years have had no legal basis. Every single state court throughout 2023, no matter the political make up, struck these challenges down. The Colorado State court was made up entirely of Democratic justice - in the eyes of Democrats, the ideal court. The ruling was 4-3 that politics didn't apply. I read a lot of the challenges and they all amounted to legalese for: "tHERE'S no real legal precedent ot do it but we need you to break the law in order to save our country." This is the political equivalent of saying we have to burn the villiage down to save it.

I grant you it is terrifying that one of our political parties is now almost entirely in awe of a man who doesn't believe in democracy. The fact that they continue to stand by even though under his rule, he has never won the popular vote, in every election in his Presidency the Party lost,in 2022 celebrating Trumpism Biden had the best midterms of any President in 20 years and last year the Democrats won the Goverrnorship and the statehouse in Virginia shows that his political appeal works only for Trump and no one else. That being loyal to a man who has no loyalty to anyone and will throw you under the bus even if you are completely loyal to him if it is expedient should be a lesson they have learned after a decade but they haven't learned that either. I don't know what's more frightening: their subveresience or the stupidity of it after eight years.

Yet no article has a real solution or a solution at all. What are we supposed to do? I've read countless doomporn articles on this blog about the election, and just like all the other articles, they are big on terror and non-existent on alternatives. I agree with every single point in your article. That's easy. But anybody can regurgitate the obvious; solutions are the hard part.

So I'm going to give you the same advice I've given everyone whose written a political article like this over the past three years. There will be a countless number of articles like this everywhere over the next six months on medium and I can imagine everywhere else in the known world. Every single one of the authors, especially on this site, will be absolutely certain they have a moral duty to keep sounding the alarm and keep reminding us of it. But unlesss you have something new to say - I'm not saying a solution but anything that is impractical or practical to add this - then all you and your ilk are doing is just adding to the same cacophony we've heard practically non-stop for a decade. It accomplishes nothing and its not going to make anybody less numb.

You may note that while I've written hundreds of articles on this site and many political ones, I've never commented once on thios incredible crisis. There's a simple reason. I don't have a solution, practical, impractical or completely ridiculous. Since I can't offer one, at least not yet, I have nothing constructive to add to the discussion. And because of that, while I have numerous feelings on the election, I will not post them in my columns. They add nothing to the dialogue that hasn't been said before countless times so my advice won't add anything to the debate so the only person that would help would be me, and only on a personal level. That may be why you're writing this article - God knows in these times we need to express our fears about the situation - but when it comes to adding to the poltical discourse, honestly, it's just noise. And really there's already too much of it.

Again I don't have a solution to the problem any more than you do. But I don't think writing articles about how the apocalypse iis coming and we are powerless to stop it helps anybody.
