I have to apologize. Three times actually.

First, after years of writing comments for so many extremist rants in this blog I have sadly gotten into the habit of it. In this case, I think I was directing towards the people who think the sun rises and sets on the squad, which your column clearly demonstrates you're not one of. So sorry for that.

Second, I think most of my comments were probaby directed as a defense of your perspective to the haters I thought were going to come out in force as they do every time someone like her is mention. But AOC defenders are not necessarily your target audience, so sorry for that.

And third, I admit to being more sensitive on new York Congresional races than even you are because - well, if you read some of my earlier blogs you might know that during 2023 the district I reside it was represented by George Santos. I did not vote for him, nor did anyone I know but the thing is, it is really hard when the Congressman who is the target of every late night joke for the past year, who is being played by Andrew Yang on SNL, whose basically the representative (sorry) for everything that the GOP represents has an office in your former neighborhood. I've tried my hardest to be a good sport about it, but let's just say I was relieved by this month's special election results.

Your column was brilliant as the lion's share have been, and I agree with everything you say. AOC, like almost all of the left, has been letting their anti-semitic flag fly high the last few months, and its bothered me as much as it's clearly bothered you. And it's telling given the way the left operatings that when Bernie Sanders, who is not only Jewish but spent some of his childhood in Israel, did not immediately jump on the ceasefire bandwagon that his supporters immediately turned on him. I remember reading an article in the Nation saying that they understood the difficulty and complexity of his position - but in the last paragraph said that he should ignore that and do what they wanted anyway. There's a much longer story here about Progressives - and in a way, I'm writing some of them.
