I have to ask a question that only you might be able to answer, given your knowledge. I never watched Game of Thrones. Is it possible I could watch House of the Dragon not having seen the original series and still find something to value in it? Strctly say, from a creative standpoint and not from someone who doesn'tt understand the mythology?

Given the vast array of performers involved that I admire in the cast (if I'd known Olivia Cooke was one of the stars I would have been willing to sign on almost regardless) is the kind of series that someone who has no knowledge of Westeros could enjoy? Is it the kind of prequel that like say, Bates Motel or many of Berlanti's Arrow-verse series (I don't read a lot of comic books but I found many of the CW series exceptional, at least at the start) admire from a creative standpoint? I realize one can appreciate the easter eggs more having read the books but could a newbie like myself go in and find something he likes? I value your opinion
