I know THEY are pragmatic leftists. But according to the leftists on this blog (and I've read their articles) none of thema re REAL leftists because they compromised. There was one leftist who said that she could no longer support Jaypal because she agreed to this compromise. Another wrtiers on this blog don't believe that AOC and Bernie are leftists because they are politicians and there are only two parties in America: Conservative and modersate conservative. Those are the ones I was writing to in this article.

For the record, there are lots of protests progressives are saying about Bernie Sanders not taking the leftist position because he won't immediately support a ceasefire in Israel, even though he is Jewish and has a complicated history. An article in the Nation actually acknowledged all of these issues - and ended by saying he should still do what they consider the right thing. Leftists have been turning on Fetterman and Warren because they have decided that support for Palestine must now trump (pun not intended) any domestic policy. Leftists in Cngress according to these writers are not REAL leftists because they compromise and work for the greater good.

mY frustration is with progressives who repeatedly on this column spend their time and energy complaining about the overwhelming Republican takeover but will never tell you that they want to vote. Far as I understand, the moment any one of their breed gets elected to office, they are untrustworthy because they're part of the system and have surrendered their purity. They're the ones II'm raging against. I'd probably be better served ot reading their work but I can't get away from them
