I lOVE this piece. Because it makes an argument so many can not do on either side. Two things can be true the same time. Trump and so many of the Republicans are fascists - but there are also complete weirdos.

I honestly think the weird message is better for the Democrats because its a better marketing tactic. There seem to be a lot of people - too many - fine with Republicans being fascists and dictators and some people can't take that seriously because its still an abstract concept. But someone who is weird and doesn't know what he's doing, that's something that they can wrap their heads around - and something that the GOP is more than willing to do not just on Fox News but everywhere. It might actually be a better political argument: you want this idiot running the country? God knows the Republicans have made it work in previous elections. Hell when Democratic candidates for Presidents look weird - dUKAKIS in a tank, kerry windsurfing - it costs them elections. Turnabout is fair play after all and Trump has given them better material.
