I never understood how real ridiculous woke people could be until this article. ARGUE that this was a long speech -you're free to do that. But somehow this is white male privilige?
You sure this is the hill you want to die on? You want to argue that EmmysSoWhite is a real thing, I'd back you there. I was really disappointed that Michael K. Williams didn't win and I was really pissed that a lot of my favorite African-American performers (Chris Rock in Fargo, Joshua Caleb Johnson) weren't nominated at all. I realize this doesn't mean anything to you because you freely admitted you don't watch award shows in the first place.
Second of all, the reason frank took so long was because he had a lot of people to thank - including to lot of woman and a couple of African-Americans. If this really was an example of white male privelege, using it to thank other people - especially at a ceremony that religiously plays people off the stage before they finish the first line of their acceptance speech - was actually the least offensive he could've done. If Michaela Coel had been played off not lonh after I would've been raging about it.
You don't like award shows Fine. Don't watch them. Don't take one moment - which is all candor was far from the worst one that night, trust me - and play it out of context. There are REAL injustices every minute - this is far from the worst one.
And don't bring Colson Whitehead into this. He was this because The Underground Railroad was nominated. He's far from an unbiased observe in this context
