I realize I will be treated toxicly just because of my name. Here goes anyway.

Nothing will ever change as long as we all have divisions and we all have our prejudices that will never be equalized no matter how much legislation we pass. Not racially, not in gender, not sexuality. As long as we have decide we are everybody but a member of the human species then arguing for any kind of equality is ridiculous.

These days the right and the left won't acknwoeldge they live on the same planet, much less the same country. They have decided who they vote for trumps (play on words not intended) has to come above everything else in their lives. That is how our country is divided. If you're a Republican but also African-American, you're not really an African American. If you're a Republican, you can't be gay. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert have been married but most Democratic women don't consider them women because their Republican. This I needn't remind you is the simplest kind of division.

These days you are one thing and anyone who disagrees with you is your enemy. And because we are divided by tribe on basically everything, we can not accept anything that is not one hundred percent behind our agenda. And all of this comes to the very clear point leaves out about that story. All the legislation in the world can't do a think to change a single person's point of view on anything. We can pass laws to help attain equality; we can never pass legislate to regulatre a single brain or heart. The fact that this man tried will never count because if he really was an ally, he would have sacrificed every living moment to be completely supportive of his wife. And even if he had, would some of you really have considered him an ally? He has a penis, after all so how can he understand what it means to be a woman.

You want to have a fight? Fight for equality under the law. Gender, racial, religious, LGBTQ all of it. That is an epic long battle that may take a lfietime to win but at least it's one that plausible. You want to change how the world thinks - and that's what this article argues for - then that's a battle that can never be one. Trying to change the mind of a single person can take the lifetime. Society as a whole - which is what you're trying to do - it will never happen because you can not legislate how people prejudice and bigotry.

I expect I will be viewed as apurveyor of 'toxic masculinity' by some mainly becase of my gender and the world of tribalism. It won't surprise me. Nevertheless, I thought I should say it anway.
