I really do have little hope for this next generation who believes everything they see on social media, won't even consider opening a book to do research. and thinks that because someone their age on Tik Tok says it is gospel. They have no respect for anything that came before them and the process of work on anything - including learning the truth - is limited to youtube clips of Jon Oliver. They'd probably laugh at your quote a racist white man or an imperialist as reliable sources because they don't trust anyone who isn't their age.
I admire your work with students, I do, but having read so many comments on this blog and beyond I am reminded of Canute trying to hold back the tide. I'm not convinced this generation or so much of it wants to learn any truth that doesn't confimr what they believe. That it has no conjunction with reality is irrelevant.
