I so loved this show. I got into it a little late but eventually binged watched the first two seasons during the pandemic. Christina Applegate has been one of my all-time favorite actresses (it breaks my heart this is likely the last TV series she'll ever act in) and this was arguably her finest hour. Linda Cardellini has recently become a favorite of mine and she was just as wonderful (she should have gotten as many Emmy nominations as Applegate)
The show also had a wonderful group of actor and actresses doing dark, sarcastic and often relentlessly passive agressive humor from such wonders as James Marsden (twice!) Valerie Mahaffey, Dina Marie Riva and one of the last roles Ed Asner ever did. You knew every episode you watched you shouldn't find this funny and that just made you laugh (and cry) all the harder.
The series supposedly was going to be three seasons according to the writers, which means they ended it on their own terms. I loved these wonderful, complicated, funny women and I'm sorry the show is over. But it was a hell of a death metal ride.
