I think Biden's doing a much better job than anybody could have expected. And I'll be honest part of me really wonders about why so many people are thinking he's too old to be President - particularly Democrats.

Did he lie to you back then? He was 77 when he ran for the Presidency. I know most Presidents are flamed for failign to keep their campaign promises as a matter of course, but did Biden make a promise somewhere that he could stop the earth from spinning? That he had the ability to make the calendar run backwards? In 2024, he was going to be four years older. That's not news. Unless something horrible happens to us, we are all going to get older. Yet somehow the fact that Biden has gotten older is the prime reason so many Democrats are arguing he needs to step down.

If Biden were even six years younger, we would not be havign this conversation. Biden has spend his Presidency restoring sanity and order to the White House. He has restored humanity and empathy to the President. The economy iis better than expected, as progressives love to point out. He got us out of the Pandemic, which you'd think would be enough to win reelection. During the leadup to the 2022 midterms, we were all certain that a red wave would sweep America. But Biden remained calm and serene. We all thought it was a sign of senility - and then he had the best midterms for an incumbent in 20 years and the best for a Democratic President since FDR. Kind of made the media look like idiots.

Then in 2023, the Democrats did better than anyone expected they would in the off-year elections. Ohio legalized abortion (and marijuana) Kentucky elected a Democratic governor and the Democrats flippred the Virginia statehouse. Earlier this year the Democrats recaptured a House seat in New York. eVER since Biden became President, the Democrats keep exceeding expectations - and everyone keeps trying to say Biden has nothing to do with it.

He has done all this the last year with a Republican led house that discharged its speaker, spent three weeks trying to pick a new one, and may very well have another very soon. The Republican Congressman themselves admit they have nothing to campaign on for reelection this fall, something they keep going out of their way to make sure happens in part of loyalty to Trump. Biden has also constantly contrasted himself with Trump on every opportunity from the classified documents scandal to the Attorney General's handling of the inveestigation to the fact that the House is determined to brag his son through the mud and impeach even though they have no crime. And IF THE electability arguments means anything, he DID beat Trump the last time by seven million votes. You would think they would want him for that alone.

Instead the main reason so many Democrats and leftists have for replacing Biden is- he has gotten four years older.

So for the record have Gretchen Whitwer, Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris and Marianne Williamson. None of whom necessarily can beat Trump in a head to head match up in any poll I've seen. None of them have a record to run on at all. None of them are immensely popular with Democratic voters. But...they're younger, which seems to be the key thing that seems to matter.

I'm not saying that Biden's age shouldn't be a factor and that we shouldn't be talking about whether he's too old to be President. I know that people are living longer and than many people who are older than Biden are often just as competent when they appear on television. But strictly on the merits, Biden has the record and reason to run for reelection now. The only reason that people are upset is they're afraid Trump will beat him. Trump might also very well beat any alternative the Democrats can put in his place in just a few months. Indeed, it's more likely that will happen giving the amount of time remaining between now an dhte convention.

I do understand the panic and concern from the Democrats, but there are no guarantees in politics - something that the party was certain about when they thought Hilary was going to win easily in 2016. As for those who protest, well, they're just those who want some mythical perfect candidate. By the way Bernie would be four years older now too. In fact, he's a year OLDER than Biden. You think the left hasn't given up Bernie trying to run in Biden's place and wouldn't see the contradiction?

I don't know what's going to happen in November. But what I know is that based on Biden's track record and everything he's done, he deserves to run for reelection. I also know the Democrats do not have a viable alternative and wouldn't have had one had Biden agreed to serve one term. And they also have no one with a proven track record of beating Trump DECISIVIELY. If they're only argument is that Biden has gotten four years older, hey, it was on his borth certificate. No one lied
