I would be fine if America concentrated less on polls. The problem is American politics is dull. ALways dull. Issues are dull. Democracy when done well is dull. I spend a lot of time reading and inhaling more political knowledge then most people and honestly it's very boring.

And don't tell me its an educational issue or that's it due the public lacks of interest: there is no way, none, too make the geopolitical problems of the Middle East or the larger economic problems of our nation, interesting to the masses. Not because they're ignorant but because it has always appealed to a fragment of even the educated.

Numbers are something we can understand. We may not be able to understand anything else but we know that 48 percent is more than 44 percent. I agree politicians should enact laws as if polls don't exist - I honest think if approval polls didn't exist are lives would be a little easier - but I'm not naive to think that would appeal to the idea that one set of laws will be taken the way it is in Utah then it is in Maryland. Again politics is complicated. Numbers are simple.

And don't put this on television or social media or even journalism. The only way the entire public would receive the exact same knowledge would be if everybody read and saw the exact same books oir shows and we could all agree they were the truth. That is impossible because no two people can ever agree. On anything. It was true before any of these inventions existed; it just as true now.

aGAIN jOURNALIST time could be better spent on other things. But if people cared about these things, documentaries would be the highest growest films of all time and C-SPAN would be the ratings juggernaut. All of this operates on the fact that journalism is not a business which contrary what you see in the movies it is and always has been.

Politics is boring. Democracy is boring. History can be interesting but only to certain people. Stop saying that getting rid of polling would make democracy more interesting because honestly when its perfect, it's supposed to be boring. Find a way to make all of not dull and you might have something. I eagerly await your post on explaining exactly how that is possible.
