I would like to know - and this may not be the same question you asked but its related - I keep hearing the argument we're not in a post-racial America.

What does that mean? If you mean an America where there is no racism at all, well that's never going to happen and we all know that. Is it a world where all PEOPLE of different races can talk to each other and there will be no bigotry involved or implied, I don't see that happening either. I'm willing to support the idea of DEI programs in theory but I'm honestly not sure what the endgame is for that.

I say this in part out of ignorance and out of need: it's very clear what the opposite is: It's MAGA in all its fury and white supremacy. But at the very least we need it to be more clearly defined and not have it come down to name calling. I know what a post-racial society isn't. I need an idea of what it looks like so I can figure out what can be done. I think we all do.
