I'd be willing to include Matthew McConaughey's character from True Detective, someone who not only doesn't believe in God he doesn't believe in anything. And honestly having heard the comedy of Bill Maher, he doesn't strike me as a lot of fun at parties.
I'm thinking of doing a longer piece on George Carlin compared to Richard Pryor in which I argue why Pryor was a flatout genius revolutionary and Carlin was in many ways, just a spoiled white leftist atheist who was revered for calling everyone in America a sucker.
The problem is the atheist had the bad fortune of being associated with a kind of elitist standard that I have found more in common with too many unpleasant streaks.
An interesting side possibility to this is Fox Mulder, who has a belief in the paranormal but doesn't believe in any religious deity. Indeed one of the only things he disagrees with Scully about is the existence of God. However, I'm pretty sure he would qualify as an agnostic rather than an aetheist.
