I'm very hetero but have been able to relate to gay love stories on TV. I remember fondly loving the story between Willow and Tara (damn you Joss for being a dick!) David and Keith on Six Feet Under, all of the brilliant love stories that unfolded in the incredible Pose (a series I should have had no business liking much less considering its final season the second best show of 2021) and Fellow Travelers was one of the most moving love stories I've ever seen.
I've always believed, perhaps naively, that the greatest of art can cross all racial, gender and sexual boundaries. The fact that I'm not indigenous didn't stop be from absolutely loving every moment of Reservation Dogs, that I'm not Muslim didn't stop me from enjoying the universal humor of Ramy and that I'm not Korean-American didn't stop me from relating to every single action that the leads of Beef took throughout that series. (I'm also not a black womnan but I loved every second of Insecure, btw.) I think that the great story can touch a universal heartstring that doesn't need to be defined by these boundaries and I look forward to being proven right by this by teleivsion again and again and again.
Bravo.
