In an article I wrote about why i thought Adam McKay was not nearly as talented as Aaron Sorkin when it came to screenwriting (an opinion, btw that Don't Look Up has done nothing to change) I said that while The Big Short was a good movie, Margin Call is leaner, darker and unbelievably merciless.
You left out the capper of that scene of course. Kevin Spacey looks at Irons and says: "I'm staying, but not because of that speech. I need the money. i WISH I didn't, but I need the money." You won't want to watch Margin Call again - you'll want to take a shower afterwards - but you can't deny its power and its message. (Though as we all know, everybody has.)
