Interestingly enough while the Oscars ignored this film (they have basically ignored almost all of De Palma's work no matter how good it is) the Golden Globes nominated Sean Penn and Miller for Supporting Actor awards. It would have been hard for Penn to get nominated that year (the Supporting actor list for 1993 is deservedly considered one of the greatest assemblages of talents available) but the decision to nominate Holly Hunter for her ridiculous work in The Firm is one of the Oscars greatest travesties and Miller's work is clearly superior to that. As for Pacino, he had won Best Actor the previous year (indeed, he'd been deservedly nominated twice) and they might have thought it was gilding the lily. Besides the talent in the Best Actor category was incrediblly high as it was .1993 was a superb year for movies generally, indeed, it was the kind that makes you wish the Academy had room for ten nominees as it was.
