It didn’t quite have the earmarks of an HBO story — except you know, being exceptional in every aspect. I got the larger point of your article and there are parts I agree with and parts I don’t agree with — partially on The White Lotus, a lot on how HBO has kind of moved away from the urban aura of the series that truly made them pioneers. That being said, there is a certain level of greatness there too — The Leftovers was a remarkable series and I really loved The Deuce (as long as David Simon is there, HBO will never truly leave the darkness of the streets)
Give the new edition of In Treatment a try — I thought it was remarkable and it is a lot closer to where HBO was at its peak.
