It honestly never occurred to me that one of the problems with Succession was it was too white. Sadly that seems a tendency of too many HBO peak series - they're either all white (The Sopranos, Game Of Thrones) or all black (Lovecraft Country, everything David Simon does) It's rare for a great HBO drama to find a happy medium. The only one I remember recently is Watchmen.
That said Billions was significant better (hell, groundbreaking) in certain representation. An argument can be made that Dillon is the breakout star of the series and I really can't comprehend why they haven't competed in the award circuit.
And if nothing else, there are twists in Billions. Sometimes the series is too clever by five-eighths, but that's better than Succession which barely manages one clever twist at the end of the season.
