I've given up making real arguments about her articles after trying for months and she has not even given the slightest interest in responding. And I know that, at the end of the day, you're exactly like her because you're defending her and reading her.

But since you asked: She has written constantly that the Republican party has been destroying America and the Democrats aren't doing enough because they aren't basically behaving like Republicans. She has spent the last two years accusing Biden of not being able to accomplishing the things LBJ did with the great Society or FDR with the New Deal even, though Biden has nowhere near the margins in Congress either president did. She castigates Biden and all democrats for not convincing Manchin or Sinema to vote thier way without offering a legal or even legitimate course forward. On the other hand whenever major legislation has been passed - and quite a bit has over the past six months - she either writes nothing about or compains its never enough. She has made it clear on multiple occasions that compromises is a dirty word to her as it to the Republicans, even accuses Jaypal as a 'traitor' when she did so. She has no praise for anyone in the establishment when something gets done and only blames people when it goes wrong. She has never offered a single solution in any of her articles that could be done, and seems utterly uninterested in doing anything. She has more than once said that she is angry that she has to vote because she only wants to vote for people she shares beliefs with.

I honestly don't know who the author is. I spent months trying to get her to engage with me, challenged her, and finally gave up on her and her ilk ever giving a legitimate response to anything. I think that she and too many writers on this blog are benefitted from the 'doomcrying' phase that so many authors are. I believe, like the far right media, she has found a way to make a living off the se article and is therefore just as hypocritical as the people on talk radio and Fox news. I know I should know better than to even read her articles, let alone comment on them, but sometimes I just can't help myself. Did I perhaps vent a little too much? Maybe. But you don't need to defend her, if that's what you're actually doing. She never responds to my reviews anyway, which means she's just going to ignore this one too.

But why I am telling you this? by the eloquence of your prose you have demonstrated that you are just part of the same bubble that she and her ilk inhabit. At most, you will write another few lines at me expressing a similar degree of intellect in your response. More likely, you will just read her next column and lavish praise on her for speaking the truth, utterly ignore the brunt of the criticism I have made in this commentary and so many others. I'm sorry I spoiled the illusion. I'll try to refrain from commenting next time.
