I've read this article to be clear. I also read the comments section. I realize why you're upset.

The author committed that most cardinal of sins which is to 'never push back against the left' There's a new book making it is thesis. And as always you and your colleague in the comments section have decided to react both to me and to him as you always do: call us names and say that you haven't left the Democratic Party, it left you. I didn't buy that line when Reagan said it, it doesn't look any better on either of you.

I could (and in fact AM) making an argument as to how much of the conservative revolution is at least part owed to both your resistance to compromise and the left's lack of participation in voting for the last half century. However, I will not make it to YOU here because that would be PUSHING BACK which as we all know we shouldn't do. The fact that of course, you are allowed to always push back is a contradicion that you choose to ignore; that it is basically an argument against any form of dissent - which in itself something that is in large part of dictatorships - is another contradiction you will ignore because you are, like all leftist, think of terms for me but not for thee. You look at the entire world through a window and all you see is your reflection. Your vision is the only one that will work and you are just as exclusive as the right wing is. That you claim to do so out of a greater good or being on the right side of history doesn't make you any less bigoted than the far right. Your coalition may be more diverse but it still has a KEEP OUT sign for those who disagree with you and you get to kick out whoever you want when they don't meet your standards.

Compromise and coalitions are how democracies work. That's how they function. The author has made that point clear multiple times in this article and others and you decide to take the attitude of "you didn't break up wiht us, I broke up with you." I'd love to live in this utopia that you want to create but you're no closer to building it then you've ever been and you seem to be proud the more people you push into the dystopia the right is building. Rational people might choose to look as to how they can find a way to change their approach or meet people in the middle. Your remarks both to me and the author show you have no interest in doing so - and that you will likely choose to basically read this comments section like everything i WROTE in the first comment and the original article: proof that you alone are right in your vision, it's the WORLD that's wrong.

As we all know one of three things happen next:

1. You say nothing.

2. You call me more names and I end up blocking you.

3. You block me.

Of course the fourth options is that you actually hear me on this and a dialogue begins that starts to bridge the divide but as much as I hope that happens, I know better by now. I hope you prove me wrong. I expect you won't.
