Just finished watching the series. Actually subscribed to Peacock to get it. Admittedly I did for it a different reason: I love everything Natasha Lyonne does. In the second season of Russian Doll, I could see her perfectly fitting into the next Doctor Who and she's absolutely perfect doing her homage to Colombo. (BTW, the surtitles for every episodes were deliberately designed to look like the ones for Columbo.) This is a perfect mix of genres, drama, mystery and comedy. And sometimes it goes deeper. The one with Nick Nolte and Cherry Jones is a full-on Hitchcok homage and the penultimate episode was pure Agatha Christie. The only mystery remaining to me is: how long will it take for the Emmys to finally reward Lyonne for her work here. Not this year (Quinta Brunson has it locked up) but next season, hopefull.y.
