Never has there been an article that makes it fundamentally clear what Progressives are like and leftists. In that sense you are totally like Conservatives: Both of you America would be just fine if the other one wasn't there.
Conservatives are pissed that no one shares their white christian values. Leftists blame everyone for not sharing the values they've had for twenty years. You never follow your logic out to the end: America would be better off if it didn't have the south.
They should never have put the Constitution together allowing slavery. Sure the South wouldn't have joined and the United States would never have come together. The fact that literally all America at that time had those views, well, they were all ignorant. better to not let the United States be formed at all and spend the rest of our lives fighting smaller wars.
Lincoln wanted to hold the Union together without freeing a single slave. You never forgave him for saying that. of course he was a Republican so he was little better than a white supremacist to begin with. Besides he didn't believe in equality for blacks. there were some radical republicans who did and wanted to, but they're Republicans so they're evil, forget it. Better to let the continent to have two countries one slave, one free. How exactly do you think the South would have lived? And just how good do you think things would have been for the North?
FDR enacted the New Deal, but he did so with the help of Southern Segregationists. Never mind the fact he tried to purge the party of the most conservative of the bunch, or that he actually had arranged for a paper written that was the most accurate depiction of just how economically backwards the South was. The point is, he negotiated with racists. And that's the thing about Progressives. You don't compromise.
And I guess Lyndon Johnson sacrifIces to bring the civil Rights act were pointless. Funny how you turn to him in previous articles whenever you want to say how much the Democrats can accomplish can put their minds to it and then take a shit on that same accomplishment. Never mind that he admitted he sacrificed the South for the Democrats when he signed the bill and all the racists went to the Republicans. The bill didn't work and he started the Vietnam war anYway, so screw him.
Maybe I shouldn't be shock you're a leftist who lives in the south. You're in an atmosphere that will never change so you can spend your life complaining that nothing will ever get better. It won't get better for you, therefore it won't get better for anyone, therefore don't bother trying. That is in the brunt of all your articles and your friends. Because a paragraph at the end of an article making half-hearted suggestions doesn't hide the fact you're making a living based on how horrible the world is and that it'll never change for people WHO SHARE YOUR VALUES.
