Of course they didn't agree to BOYCOTT organizations that use to support Israel because that might hurt their ability to do research in their field. And I actually read in the Times that there was a huge turnout for the group at a time when Academia as a whole is struggling to survive finanfically.
If this isn't another way of how certain groups will cut off their noses to spite their face, I don't know what is. This is a meaningless stand of course, that doesn't nothing to solve the problem and it's like every other movement that has been made in the last year since October 7th by the pro-Palestine people: it doesn't nothing to change the situation on the ground or in the fields of diplomacy but it makes them FEEL like they're taking a stand, which is more important than actually taking a stand. Aren't academia the biggest idiots of all? I don't even think they're useful at this point.
