Part of the reason I liked Major Crimes was because GW Bailey got more to do. On The Closer, he was basically took a back seat to Sedgwick; on Major Crimes, his character became more interesting and frankly, a better detective. McConnell may have been a less interesting character but she was far more willing to listen to her detectives that Sedgwick was as wellas take their advice. I also agree with you on Law and Order and I've written some good things about other procedurals on this blog.
