Roger Ebert said that this movie was connected in a way to the Book of Job.. He says that the key to may be the story that the rabbi tells him that seems unrealated: the man who goes to the dentist. His last line of the review is: "Remember that the usual meaning of a Jewish parable is contained in the last two lines." With that reference Reb Cian (an old Jewish joke) I ask you to refer that part of the sacred text and tell me just what you think that Ebert got out of the film and pass it on to us mere mortal. I don't think it's a spoiler warning considering the nature of your review. I respect your opinion and I'd like to know what you think it means.
