Since you've been responding and our favorable to my writing, I wanted to let on something:

I write fanfiction and in one story I decided to indulge in an alternate American history. In my America, at the height of the Lavender Scare: j. Edgar Hoover was forced to resign from the FBI because he was caught in a D.C mens room with Walter Jenkins, LBJ's close aide.

Other changes:

Joseph Kennedy Jr survies the war. He gets the political career. JFK becomes a journalist, takes over the Boston Globe and he and Marilyn get married. (He isn't faithful to her, but...)

Adlai Stevenson becomes President, though he survives a scare in Dallas in October of 1963 from a hostile crowd.

John Anderson becomes Prsident and signs the ERA into law.

Gary Hart becomes President.

Of course, it's not a utopia (this is an X-Files fic so there's an alien invasion over all of this) but I enjoyed writing it.
