Because according to the left - and it has now been published in journals like The Nation - when any party moves to the CENTER when they govern, they're actually moving to the RIGHT. Now I realize that this seems to go against how directions work, and that politically it means that if Bernie or AOC was elected, the moment they compromised they were becoming more Trump-like every day but apparently that is the logic they follow now.

nO JOKE, i described myaelf as a centrist in one of my own columns and was accused by someone online I'd considered a friend as being Sinema-Manchin-Hogan RINO who by arguing for free speech and equality even to people who disagreed with them was somehow letting MAGA win. And considering that the left believes not in gradualism or even immediate reform but somehow has to have their ideals achieved not only wihtout having to ask for them but even tell you what they are...well, all of this is to say I completeley agree with you but you're gonna get push back.
