The Usual Suspects has never lost its power over me even after 30 years. I know all of the baggage it has now and it was clear to me ten years ago what it was.

I should add up front that I have always been able better than most to separate the artist from the art. For all the horrible nature of who he may always have been, I can't deny the power of Spacey as one of the great actors of his era. It is true here as it was in LA Confidential, through his work in House of Cards and so many films in between. I will never be able to watch the final minutes of this film and not be stunned by its power. The last lines of the movie may have been said before but combined with the final images, they are one of the greatest closing lines in history.

"aND Like that, he's gone."

After years of laboring for love in my blog on TV, I have decided to expand my horizons by blogging about my great love to a new and hopefully wider field.
