Was Tierney the ex-con on Reservoir Dogs or was that Eddie Bunker?

Sadly I imagine this is the story of many former actors in Hollywood known for awhile and then forgotten. He was nasty but honestly, at a certain point if you get old enough in Hollywood you earn the right to be a curmudgeon.
