You're using the wrong label as your description. You're not a writer or a leftist not really. You're what they call in espionage circles a useful idiot

I've been watching you write your articles and spew your nonsense for a year hoping at some point you would at the very least show some signs of internal logic or at the very least engage with someone would disagree with you. But I know its pointless now. You're idea willfully blind or you really don't care about democracy at all. So let me make it clear.

This year began with a violent insurrection in which people tried to bring down the newly elected government. It followed that up with many of the same people who had their lives threatened still voting to invalidate that same election.

The country has been gerrymandered beyond believe the last twenty years to the point that one party has now made even winning by an immense majority almost impossible for the other side to gain all but the most modest advantage. Throughout the year this same party has basically been slowly but surely subverting election laws at the local and federal level to make voting harder for basically anyone who might be a Democrat. They've already arranged things so that a President who lost the popular vote was able to put three conservative justices on the Supreme Court pretty much guarantee that we won't have much luck at the federal level. That's all happened.

And has any of this been your priority in any of your articles? Have you written about that or the Republican machine that is so antiscience they'd rather let their own constituents die than get vaccinated a deadly virus? Have you written advocate for statehood for DC or Puerto Rico so that the party that at least cares a little about Democracy could have more representation? Have you written about voting rights at all? Have you written a single article about how Republicans have become a party that no long accepts defeat or acknowledges the last election was a fair one?

You haven't. All you write about is how the Democrats have disappointed you, how all the elected officials trying to at least work for Democracy and who are hampered by a system that has given them no margin to do anything is incompetent, that any elected official is corrupt and that anyone who compromises - even your beloved Progressives - has sold out. Essentially you have the same approach between the two parties that Trump said when he was making his statements about Charlottesville. Hell, in this article, you actually seem to be welcoming a Republican victory! Essentially the Republicans are doing everything they can to destroy democracy as we know it and your answer is to this is basically to shrug and say: "Well, it wasn't working so well to begin with."

Don't pretend your innocent in any of this. In one of your latest article EVEN HAVE LIVED THROUGH THE TRUMP PRESIDENCY you basically just said "Well, it's not like Hilary deserved to win. It's not like in any of your articles you even acknowledge the brokenness of the system or suggest a solution. At this point, I do really hope your just hopelessly naive. Part of me sometimes wonders if you're on the rights payroll basically here to plant seeds of destruction among readers that the Democrats are no good anyway so there's no point in voting.

You don't care about governing. You don't care about compromising. You either know or don't care about how politics really work. For eight months all you said was basically the Democrats need to 'make' Joe Manchin vote our way. But not compromise of course. I'd honestly have more respect for your if you'd suggested tortured or threatening his life. it would have been outrageous but it would have been something. All you would said was they need to make him. You never said how. And then when they couldn't you say they're inept and deserve to lose.

Well, I know you won't answer. you probably don't even read columns that aren't claps. So I'll just say this. Enjoy the next year. Yell at every Democrats who doesn't sign on to your values. Say none of them deserve to win then pat yourself on the back when the Republicans will sweep. Because it will be your last chance. One party is killing democracy and you're basically trying to stop the other side from getting the pillow away from them. And when the Republicans take over, enjoy your last few weeks of complaining.

Because at some point they will come for you. Either they'll offer you a job or to put you in a cell. One or the other. Either way, I'm sure some point of you will think 'I don't deserve this. " But you did.
